Event description

Description

As darkness begins to encroach in late October, join professional storyteller Tom Lee for an afternoon of ghost stories.

Tales of “ghostly experiences at first hand,” as Edith Wharton called them, are very much at home at The Mount. In company with other writers of her day, including Henry James, Wharton enjoyed spooky stories told at the fireside with her unique understanding of human behavior. “The habit of sending our souls into the invisible…”

Tom Lee, a frequent guest artist for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, will tell traditional ghost stories from England and read from Wharton’s tales.

The Mount is a Massachusetts Cultural Council UP designated organization welcoming participants of all disabilities. Please contact Nicole Williams at 413-551-5100 or by email, nwilliams@edithwharton.org, to discuss accommodations needed to participate fully in this event. Caregivers are admitted free-of-charge.
