Pursuing Impact is now SOLD OUT!
While we cannot guarentee space will be available for those who are not registered, interested people can arrive on Saturday October 19th to see if any space is available. We will try and accomodate as many people as possible.
Impact is the difference between what would happen with action and what would happen without it. In the end, this is what matters; it is what affects communities, students and institutions like UBC. This symposium will unpack the notion of impact in international development and critically examine our pursuit of it.
The Symposium will feature;
- An opening panel discussion hosted by Amnesty International, BC Council for International Cooperation, Capilano University Global Stewardship Program and Oxfam
- A feature presentation on the Sustainable Livelihoods Program by AUCC Students for Development
- Returning International Service Learning student presentations
- A closing Keynote presentation by Jacky Essombe: An African Inspiration
