Pursapalooza!, a purse and jewelry sale to benefit Wood Library, will be held at 134 N Main St, Canandaigua, on Friday, December 2, 2016 from 5:30-9:30PM. Tickets can be purchased in advance at Wood Library during regular business hours for $12.00 per person, or $15.00 per person at the door.
Hundreds of new and gently used handbags, vintage, designer, and everyday purses, and a wide assortment of costume jewelry have been donated for this sale. "Labels on purses range from The Sak to Saks Fifth Avenue; from Liz Claiborne to Kate Spade; from Coldwater Creek to Dooney & Bourke. There's something for every taste and, well, pocketbook," said Jenny Goodemote, Wood Library's Executive Director.
In addition to making purchases, patrons can bid on a wonderful mix of purses used by local celebrities such as: TV anchor and award-winning reporter Ginny Ryan of 13WHAM News, TV anchor and reporter Jennifer Johnson from 13WHAM News, Registered Yoga Instructor and businesswoman Stency Wegman, Canandaigua Mayor Ellen Polimeni, Genesee Valley Trust’s Lauren Kolb, TV news anchor and reporter Maureen McGuire of WROC-TV Channel 8News, children’s book author Kate Messner, and actress Karolyn Grimes who played Zsu Zsu in the holiday classic It’s a Wonderful Life.
In addition, Rosina Miller, Mrs. Monroe County America, and Amanda Richie-Terzian, Mrs. Southern Tier, will be on hand to model some of the more upscale purses.
Pursapalooza! is for women with a penchant for purses that love a good bargain and enjoy shopping with friends. Guests will enjoy decadent desserts by Sinful Confections, wine donated by Heron Hill Winery and Century Liquor and Wines, and live guitar music by Robert Pickert.
Proceeds from this sale will benefit classes and lectures for adults at Wood Library. Event sponsors include Wood Library Trustees and the Friends of Wood Library.
