Description

Purpose University Course PUR:601 P5: The Five Secrets to Successful Grant and Bid Proposal

Description:

This book and course P5: The Five Secrets to Successful Grant and Bid Proposal is for the novice proposal writer who is interested in learning more about the paradigm needed win proposals. This book provides a 40,000 foot generalist view of proposal writing from two of seasoned professionals with over 50 years of experience. Dr. Drakeford and Dr. Hicks simplify the proposal writing process to provide five overarching concepts for effective grant and bid proposals. We believe true scholarship involves the ability for intellectuals to make the complex simple and the haphazard coordinated. It is in this spirit that this book and course uses mnemonic devices, alliteration, music, humor and whatever methods needed to effective communicate highly technical work.

"I wrote, and won, my first million-dollar grant proposal 15 years ago as a consultant for Wake County Public Schools System. Since that time our firm has raised more than 45 million for clients. To become a better trainer I went back to school at UNC-Chapel Hill to obtain a Ph.D. in Education. My research has helped me to make complex courses fun, engaging, and informative. In this course you will embrace complex and often boring topics like "grant -writing" ,"bid proposals", and "technical writing." The goal of the course is to simplify these complex topics so each participant leaves with information that increases writing confidence and gives you the necessary tools to compete and win proposals." -Derrick Drakeford, Ph.D.

:-( Not in North Carolina Thursday. No worries you can purchase a digital video download of a past training and the book.
