For this year’s Resonate festival, members of Studio Ballydehub and artist Tess Leak
are hosting a special Puppet Dance Party! Studio Ballydehub are a group of artists
based in the CoAction Hub in Ballydehob who have collaborated with Tess on a
variety of projects over the past two years, including the creation of a collection of
eccentric glove puppets. During this workshop we will bring the puppets to life with
all kinds of music and madness, proving that puppets are for adults too!
Join us for a morning of puppetry-based joy and mayhem where all participants are
ensured of a warm welcome.
About the facilitator:
Tess Leak
A graduate of the Curious School of Puppetry in London and the B.A in Visual Art on
Sherkin Island, artist Tess Leak has collaborated with groups of all ages across West
Cork for the past 14 years. She is co-creator, with artist Sharon Whooley, of
participatory projects The Museum of Song and The Museum of Birds and Beasts,
which has recently been collecting stories from residents on all the islands of West
Cork.
