Overview
listen to the rain
A meditation in 8 movements for string quartet, n'goni & voiceby Anaïs Maviel, featuring The Rhythm Method
"I've invited you to an unusual listening experience unfolding over a year. Each movement from listen to the rain was released in alignment with the 8 forces — which form the base for the I Ching, or Book of Changes' timeless wisdom. The so-called "Earthly Order" was accompanied by curated playlists & seasonal reflections. listen to the rain is now available in the "Heavenly Order": a sacred sequence of the 8 forces used in the Taoist inner alchemy practice known as the Fusion of the 5 Elements — it is how the full hour-length piece is meant to be performed live -- as a continuous, immersive experience."

Anaïs Maviel is a New York based composer, vocalist, percussionist, multi instrumentist expanding the power of music as a healing & transformative act.
The Rhythm Method X Anaïs Maviel is a fierce, genre-defying string quartet of composer-performers, The Rhythm Method reimagines the string quartet through a feminist, experimental lens — each member plays and sings, integrating strings and voices in bold, hybrid performances. THE BLANC proudly co-presents Pulsing Sound with an extraordinary range of ensembles and artists, celebrating the diversity of New York’s musical landscape and the creative communities shaping its future.
