"For mind is like a mirror; it gathers dust while it reflects. It needs the gentle breezes of Soul-Wisdom to brush away the dust of our illusions." Helena Blavatsky

Once awakened by the Voice of Silence, which resonates in his heart, the human being will never be able to live his or her ordinary life again by merely conforming to the external rules and by living life from external, material, emotional or intellectual goals.
This human being will find peace, fulfillment and rest, only when he reconciles himself with this quest, only when he actually becomes one with this voice.

In the universal teaching this reconciliation, this encounter, this transformation is often defined as the path. The human being needs to walk an internal path, the path within. However, at first, he directs his quest outside of himself, by following mystical, hidden or magic paths. After much wandering, the human being recognizes that the truth lies within himself.

The path is made of three great stages that have been defined in many ways. In the book "The Voice of the Silence" it is described in three beautiful steps:

1. THE VOICE OF THE SILENCE

2. THE TWO PATHS

3. THE SEVEN PORTALS

Rosicrucians of past and present day illustrated this threefold path by a beautiful symbolism, three roses of distinct shades:

1. The White Rose

2. The Red Rose

3. The Golden Rose

The white rose indicates the beginning of the path and the awakening of the voice of the silence. White comprises all the colors of the rainbow; it is the principle that represents the purification and union of the consciousness with the central principle, the spark of the spirit, the voice of the silence.

The red rose is a representation of the dedication of the blood; the heart's link to our most central soul force.

The golden rose points to the transformation of all the subtle aspects of the human life including one's own consciousness.
