Event Details

Did you know that 3 out of 4 people suffer from some sort of public speaking anxiety? In various studies done across the country, public speaking consistently ranks as one of the most common phobias. Taking a look at the world’s most influential business leaders, from the late Steve Jobs to Richard Branson to Oprah, a common thread they share is a gift for verbal communication. Being a confident, articulate, and poised public speaker can be the defining factor in the success of your business.

In Public Speaking 101, you will learn proper posture, diction, voice, and other speech mechanics. Personal speech habits and characteristics will be evaluated as well. Techniques for dealing with public speaking anxiety will also be discussed.

This special intro class will be taught by Jennifer Logue, an on- camera reporter, musician, and seasoned public speaker who now serves as Editor- in- Chief of Rock On Philly. In her career thus far, she has interviewed Stevie Nicks, Christopher Plummer, Martha Stewart, Jennifer Hudson, and many more movers and shakers and has performed her music internationally.

Public Speaking 101 is $5 for Pyramid Club Members and $20 for Non- Members. Please RSVP because this class is sure to fill up fast!

Jennifer Logue

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Jennifer got her start in music as a singer/songwriter. After graduating from Fordham University in New York City, she responded to a Craigslist ad for an on- camera reporter and soon found herself interviewing many of her musical inspirations, including Billy Joel, Stevie Nicks, Jon Bon Jovi, Jason Mraz, Iggy Pop, and Nile Rodgers. From then on, Logue has mixed a love for creating music with a love for music reporting. After moving back to Philly earlier this year, she became super inspired by the music here and founded “Rock On Philly.” When she is not recording, performing, or writing about music, she is most likely “occupying a venue,” drinking red wine, sweating it out in a Bikram class, running somewhere, practicing Italian, or spending her disposable income on vintage clothing and Living Social deals.
