Artists’ Tribute to Italian Americans in Baseball showcases original artwork, photographs, uniforms, articles, and other related artifacts related to baseball players of Italian descent and those with strong ties to San Diego. In addition to featuring original artwork from renowned Italian American artists James Fiorentino, Vincent Scilla, Professor John Giarrizzo, and Warren Reed, baseball players past and present showcased include: Hall of Famers Joe DiMaggio, Phil Rizzuto, Tony Lazzeri, Roy Campanella, Ernie Lombardi, Yogi Berra, Ron Santo, and Tommy Lasorda; Team Italy hitting coaches Mike Piazza and Frank Catalanotto; 2013 National League All-Star and closer Jason Grilli (Pirates); Anthony Rizzo (Cubs); Chris Denorfia (Padres); Nick Punto and Drew Butera (Dodgers); Alex Liddi (Orioles); Chris Colabello (Twins); Brian Sweeney (Mariners); Joey Votto and Mike Costanzo (Reds); as well as MLB veterans Dan Serafini, John D’Aquisto, Tony LaRussa, Craig Biggio, and Ken Caminiti.
