About the Play, "Only God Can Change Me"
Upcoming on March 11:
Solomonrain Presents the stage play “Only God Can Change Me” on March 11, 2017 at the Northland Performing Arts Center in Columbus. The play, 15 years in the making, addresses the highly relevant issue of opioid addiction. “Only God Can Change Me” is a provocative, emotional and faith-filled account of a family ripped apart by heroin addiction. The play is the work of Columbus playwright Jerry Weekly who has a long history of bringing art and theater alive in Central Ohio. Jerry wrote, acts and directs the play, which has been presented in theaters nationally and is now making its Ohio debut in Columbus.
“The play is an example of how God works through people’s lives if they let him in, but it is not a preachy or exclusively Christian production. All are welcome to just come and enjoy. Just as the problem is universal, the play is for everybody.”
“Only God Can Change Me” - A musical drama for the whole family
Are you the blacksheep, dreamer, peacemaker or the glue that holds the whole family together? If so you’ll feel right at home with the Shepard family. From the heart wrenching secrets tragedies strike a family ready to rip at the seams.
The Matriarch turns to God to seek solace in his wisdom. As each member of the family battles their own inner turmoil they question whether to approach God with their strife.
“Only God Can Change Me” will leave you laughing and humming with the gospel music long after the curtain closes.
