Description

ASPA Utah Chapter, IAP2 Intermountain Chapter, and the Kem Gardner Policy Institute cohost a two-hour event with the goal of bringing administrators and public engagement practitioners together to talk about how social divisions are presenting local challenges to their work and how engagement can help overcome them, participate in a short, facilitated dialogue activity, and review aggregated data from IAP2 National Dialogues that show are social trends are impacting participation. Box lunch included.

Attendees will:

  • Gain an understanding of what engagement is and what it isn’t (communications/public relations)
  • Think about the types of engagement they are doing and learn about opportunities to do more
  • Participate in a World Café to discuss issues and take away recommendations
  • Review data from national dialogue events highlighting key themes and recommendations that administrators can use to begin/enhance their engagement efforts
  • Leave connected to each broader community of practice and having more tools and resources
