Alumni are invited to return to Penn State School of Hospitality Management classrooms for the alumni outreach program that provides students with an opportunity to learn first-hand about the careers they are pursuing.
The two-day program includes alumni serving as guest presenters during regular classes as well as special roundtable discussions with students and faculty.
In conjunction with the Alumni in the Classroom event, the Penn State Hotel & Restaurant Society (PSHRS) Alumni Awards Reception will be held at the Nittany Lion Inn Oct. 19, where several SHM alumni receive honors.
Where can I get hotel accommodations?
There is limited amount of guest rooms available at the Nittany Lion Inn for Tuesday and Wednesday nights. The rate is $140. Reservations can be made by calling 1-800-233-7505 and reference ALUJ16B or online at www.pennstatehotels.com, select "Reserve Your Stay," select "Group Reservation," enter Reservation Identification Number -ALUJ16B, and submit. The cut-off date for reservations is September 28th.
What are my parking options for the event?
The Nittany Lion Inn Parking Deck is adjacent to Mateer Building with hourly rates. If you are staying overnight at the Nittany Lion Inn you will receive a parking pass at check-in.

Will meals be provided?
Café Laura is open for lunch from 11:30am-1:30pm (grab & go only after 1:00PM) on Wednesday and Thursday. Show your name badge to receive complimentary lunch.
We have a complimentary Alumni Continental Breakfast Mixer on Thursday from 7:30am-10am in Café Laura. Please stop in before or after your morning class to network with fellow alumni.
Where do I check-in upon my arrival?
Upon your arrival please register in 201 Mateer and pick-up your name badge. Your name badge will be needed to attend all events (classes, roundtables, lunches, reception). We will also go over any final changes to your itinerary at this time. Registration is open 7:30am-4pm Wednesday and Thursday 8am-12pm. Those arriving just in time for the reception on Wednesday evening may register at the Nittany Lion Inn outside the Ballroom beginning at 6:00PM.
Please plan to meet your faculty member at the location of your scheduled class, unless you have made alternate arrangements with each faculty member.
When will I receive my schedule?
You will receive your finalized itinerary with your class and roundtable assignments the week of October 3rd. Please make your travel plans. We will work with your class preferences and arrival/departure times you have provided to us.
