Overview

Part of The Poetry Society of New York's Weekly Virtual Workshop Series.

An all-levels generative virtual workshop with poet Thomas Jackson!

Join poet Thomas Jackson in an exploration of neurodivergence in poetry, highlighting the work of nonspeaking, autistic, and other authors whose work highlights the wide array of life experiences. We will read work from poets Hannah Emerson and Adam Wolfond, among others, to work toward a more inclusive future. We will use textual inspiration to craft poetry and responses highlighting the gifts and barriers inherent to neurodivergent life.

About the Instructor: Thomas Jackson is a disabled queer poet and collage artist from Raleigh, North Carolina living with Bipolar Disorder. He is a published TEDx Speaker, landscape designer, self-published author, amputee, and suicide prevention leader.
