Event description

Description

Purpose

This module addresses the foundations of articulate communication. We cover key skills for advocacy, delivery, and structuring content. Participants learn best practices in short plenary sessions and explore new communication behaviors throughout the day in small group breakouts, receiving feedback from peers and expert communication coaches. New skills are reinforced by video-recording and speech analysis tools. The program ends with the crafting of a personal development plan to reinforce targeted competencies through applications to typical academic and work-related communication tasks.

Facilitators

The module is facilitated by William Vance, who leads communication training in several divisions of Yale, and the breakouts are supported by five F&ES communication coaches.
