Event Details

PSFK is working with UNICEF to help them consider new ideas that improve the health of children around the world. Having researched trends in health and innovation, PSFK plans to present a Future of Health report to a number of creative agencies with the aim for them to respond with ideas that will be published in a public report. This pro-bono project asks creative agencies to develop concepts to inspire innovation at UNICEF around remote healthworkers. This report will be distributed to governments and aid organizations around the world.

Included in the briefing will be highlights from the themes PSFK has uncovered in the Future of Health report, key issues identified by UNICEF teams, and guidelines for how groups might approach the development of new concepts which address these issues.

TO RECEIVE A BRIEF - SELECT ONE OPTION ABOVE & MAKE A DONATION TO UNICEF. BRIEFS WILL BE SENT OUT ON JULY 14th.

Timings

  1. In Person briefing in New York - July 13 2010
  2. Briefs emailed - July 14 2010

PSFK hopes to inspire good ideas to make the world better. We’re hoping that your team can join us, as this is truly your opportunity to solve important problems affecting people in less privileged areas. As we produce this Future of Health report, we want to fill the pages with ideas that teams actively working in the field can actively adopt in their areas.

Questions?

Does the call apply for the formal agencies only, or a temporal creative force of likeminded colleagues would be formed, could this also be considered?

Yes, all of the above. The aim here is to get as many ideas to inspire UNICEF and likeminded organizations.

What will the Future of Health report look like?

It will look like this document - but show trends at the intersection of health and technology.

What type of output are you expecting in regards to the concepts?

Something like the work Wieden + Kennedy New York did for the report above. See the three concepts outlined in the doc below:

Are there any pre-defined forms of deliverables (like the ad, comm. concept, etc) or will the brief require more for solution/idea, despite of the form it will have?
The brief should outline 10 needs that UNICEF has when it comes to remote healthcare. Think utility across communications, products and services.

If our idea gets through, will we also be in charge of executing it or will it be passed to someone else?
This is an open source project. Your idea is out there to inspire UNICEF, governments, universities and companies developing products in this area. In the report and on our site, your contact details will be listed alongside your concept but you have to accept to the fact that you won't own the idea. At the end of the day:  we WANT people to take your concepts and use them to help needy people. Don't you?

Who is going to judge the entries? Is there any pre-defined criteria?
Piers Fawkes of PSFK and Christopher Fabian of UNICEF will decide which ones get published on PSFK and in the final report. We hope to include as many as we can. You can publish your idea anywhere you want to too.

Is this a non-payable project?
You are donating your time and skills. It's an opportunity for creatives to demonstrate their creative abilities for a good cause. Note - there is no copyright on ideas.
