Objectives of Training:

Grief and loss is something we all have experienced in our lifetime. The loss might be something minor such as not getting a job we wanted or a major devastation of losing a love one. How we respond to grief also varies from individual to individual. This workshop will explore:

- Understanding grief as a healing and necessary process,

- The stress of grief and how to cope,

- How peer recovery specialists can provide support to individuals and/or their families experiencing the loss of a love one due to drug overdose. This will include listening and communication techniques to facilitate the bereaved in their healing.
