Jazz, classical cross-over and original compositions

Jonathan began playing classical piano at 5, taught by a musical father. He started exploring the world of jazz and latin music in his late 20s and has been a mainstay of the vibrant Bay Area music scene for over 30 years. Jonathan has played with many Latin legends including Orestes Vilato, Chocolate Armenteros, John Santos and Pete Escovedo. He has performed at the SF and San Jose Jazz festivals and many venues world wide. He is the leader of Azesu, featuring Maria Marquez .

Evan Price is a violinist and composer best known for his work as a 10-year member of the Turtle Island Quartet and for his 20+ years of gypsy jazz with The Hot Club of San Francisco. His playing and writing have been featured on numerous recordings by those ensembles and many others. At home in classical music, jazz, and various fiddling genres, his compositions and arrangements for such ensembles as Chanticleer and the New Century Chamber Orchestra reflect that broad expertise. In 2016, he premiered his own “Concerto For Jazz Violin and Orchestra” with the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra. He is the recipient of 2 GRAMMY® awards for his work with Turtle Island. He lives in San Rafael, CA with his wife and daughter.

Lewis is a professional cellist and composer from Oakland, CA. After earning a bachelors degree in cello performance from the Peabody Institute in 2007, Lewis took an uncommon path and toured both as a side musician for rock bands, and in his own experimental instrumental metal band, Judgement Day. He now lives in Oakland and works as a freelance musician. A dedicated chamber musician of all styles, Lewis plays standard string quartet repertoire with the Town Quartet, jazz, world music, and originals with the Musical Art Quintet, and modern punk with the artsy Oakland band, La Dee Da. Lewis has appeared on over 100 recordings, with artists including Slash, Pete Yorn, Pinback, and Demi Lovato. He is also the organizer of the Classical Revolution Oakland chapter, which presents one performance a month at Awaken Cafe in Oakland. Lewis is currently in the process of recording an album of original music for solo cello, produced by the former cellist of the Kronos Quartet, Joan Jeanrenaud.
