Since the world of online payments and electronic banking, fraud schemes have proliferated. Fraudsters are constantly finding ways to steal your information. Consumers need to be proactive by recognizing fraud scams and keeping an eye out for identify theft schemes. You play an important role in safeguarding your information and protecting yourself from fraud and identity theft. This session will help you to recognize scams and schemes to protect your valuable information.

Bio of the presenters:

Shane Creel is a retired Naval Engineering Officer completing 23 years of honorable service and currently employed with Texas A & M University – Kingsville as Executive Director, Enterprise Risk Management and online Adjunct Professor with New England College of Business.
Dr. Creel’s background and experience encompasses a wide range of safety, operations, administrative, financial planning, and technical aspects as well as disaster preparedness and recovery. He recently received his Certified Fraud Examination certification through the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Deborah Sementa worked in the financial services industry for over 26 years and is considered an industry expert in banking and compliance. For over a decade, she was a principal bank examiner for the State of Connecticut. For over 16 years, she served as the Director of Compliance and compliance officer for a multibillion dollar community bank, where she was responsible for compliance in all areas of the bank. She is a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager and is presently pursuing her doctoral degree in educational leadership. Deborah has written several articles on the state of the banking environment for various trade publications. She is currently interim chair for the Master of Science in Business Ethics and Compliance program for New England College of Business.
