Event description

Description

Do you feel overwhelmed by the increasing dangers facing your kids online? Parenting in the digital age is one of the most challenging jobs any of us will ever have. We want to help! During this workshop, you’ll gain practical knowledge and tips to strengthen your family’s online safety strategy, such as:

  • Technology solutions to monitor and block inappropriate web sites, videos, search terms, and apps.

  • Recommended ages for social media use, and the dangers that go with it.

  • Strategies to provide accountability, balance, and boundaries for your family's technology use.

  • Resources for talking to your kids about sensitive subjects such as explicit content and predators.

Presenters include Jesse and Sarah Siegand, former Granbery parents and co-founders of the Internet safety campaign Parents Who Fight, as well as Granbery parent Bryan Thornton, a forensic investigator and researcher working to protect children, teens and families against modern digital threats.

Light refreshments will be provided a few minutes before the event begins. Due to the nature of the evening's discussion, this event is for adults only. Please make other arrangements for your children.

We are in this together! Come ready to learn.

Tuesday, Feb. 6th is the global recognition of Safer Internet Day! All over the world, people just like you will be learning how they can make the Internet a safer space.
