Whether you are an artist, musician, or entrepreneur safeguarding your ideas is essential. In this introductory session, attendees will learn the basics of intellectual property (patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets) including what you can and cannot protect and the limits to your legal rights.

Presenter:

Rachel Herder is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Law and the Director of the Intellectual Property Clinic at Penn State Law - University Park. The Intellectual Property (IP) Clinic trains outstanding intellectual property lawyers by having law students counsel Pennsylvania innovators, entrepreneurs, small businesses, and early-stage start-ups in Intellectual Property strategy. Services provided include: patents, trademarks, and general IP counseling.
