Event description

Description

An evening with leading conservationist Dr Ian Singleton, Director of the Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Programme (SOCP), sharing fascinating insights from almost 20 years working on the frontline of orangutan and forest protection.

Join us to hear from Dr Singleton about why there is hope for Sumatran orangutans and their rainforest home, and learn what we can do to save the precious Leuser Ecosystem, the only place in the world where orangutans, tigers, elephants and rhinos co-exist under the same forest canopy.

The talk will be illustrated by stunning photography and film.

This is a joint event of the Sumatran Orangutan Society and the Jim Cronin Memorial Fund. 60% of your ticket price will be donated to SOCP, and 40% to JCMF.

Your ticket price includes entry into Monkey World. The venue of the talk is Hethfelton House, see below for directions.

A very limited number of Jungle VIP tickets are available, which include a two-course meal with Dr Singleton following the talk.

Directions:

The entrance to the property is on the A352 which runs between Wareham & Wool. Please look out for the signage on the day. If you plan on using a Sat Nav with our postcode, please be advised that it will take you to Monkey World and NOT to Hethfelton House.

If you do arrive at Monkey World - Take a left out of the Monkey World main car park, take the first exit (left) at the roundabout and you will see a national speed limit sign on the left, the driveway to the property is just behind the sign on the left.

From Wareham:
Drive along the A352 towards Wool, go past the speed camera on the left, go past the Stokeford Inn pub on the right, just before the 40mph speed limit signs there is a turning on the right in the trees marked as private drive. Follow the driveway up through the trees, take the right hand fork, marked Hethfelton House. If you miss the right hand turning, continue up the hill to the roundabout, go around the roundabout and back down the hill, the turning to the property from this direction is on the left just by the national speed limit signs.

From Wool:
Drive past The Ship Pub on your left, go to the left over the railway crossing and past the garage on your right, continue on to the roundabout, take the second exit at the roundabout signposted Wareham, almost immediately you will see the national speed limit sign on the left, the driveway to the property is just behind the sign on the left in the trees marked as private drive. Follow the driveway up through the trees, take the right hand fork, marked Hethfelton House.
