Event description
Protecting Neighboring Buildings During Construction

About this event

When building on land bordered by neighboring properties, developers must ensure protections required by the Building Code. Using a case study to illustrate the key areas of concern, this program will explore the Code requirements for the protection of adjacent buildings, explain the technical aspects of the protections, and discuss the nature of license agreements dealing with the protections. Legal remedies available to developers in the event a neighbor does not cooperate with the implementation of the required protections will also be presented. The panel consists of attorneys with in depth experience with neighbor agreements and an engineer fully conversant in the Code protections.
