DISCOVER A SOLUTIONS-BASED APPROACH FOR PARENTING IN THE DIGITAL AGE

Do you feel overwhelmed by increasing family conflict over screen time, as well as the dangers kids face online? Parenting in the digital age is one of the most challenging jobs any of us will ever have. We want to help! During this seminar, you’ll gain practical knowledge and tips to strengthen your family’s online safety strategy, such as:

Setting boundaries for the technology your family uses.

Using parental controls and monitoring software solutions to provide accountability and balance.

Kid-safe searching solutions, including YouTube searches.

What age is appropriate for social media, and the dangers associated with it's use.

How to talk to your kids about sensitive subjects such as explicit content and predators.

We'll have snacks available, plus great door prizes (like a Circle with Disney). We will also feature valuable input from these experts and pastors in our community:

  • Katherine Crouse, LMFT: Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist — Katherine brings a wealth of experience to the conversation about how technology is impacting the children and adolescents she works with in her counseling practice.

  • Pastor Donna Phillips: Children's Pastor, New Song Nashville — Pastor Donna has been in children's ministry for over 30 years, and offers great insight about the ways technology has impacted children over the decades.

  • Grant Ebright: Tech Industry Professional / Assistant Youth Pastor, New Song Nashville — Grant has a unique perspective of having a career in the tech industry and seeing first-hand the way families interact with technology (both good and bad) while also helping to pastor and lead teenagers for many years. He has a heart to see students use technology for good.

  • Lexie LaVallee: Trafficking Survivor & Advocate for Digital Safety — Lexie is working to help parents understand how to identify risk points within their home as it relates to technology. She has a powerful testimony of healing and redemption through Christ.

  • Ricky Darr: Executive Director, National Decency Coalition — Ricky is leading the fight against pornography from a legal angle, and will be sharing about ways parents can support upcoming legislation.

  • Pastor Scott Weaver: Executive Pastor, New Song Nashville — Pastor Scott will share his wisdom about how these issues are affecting our future Christian leaders, as well as the families within the Body of Christ across our country. He will bring strength and leadership as he commissions us to fight for our families.
