About the Presenter:


Dr. Karin Crowhurst earned a BSc (Honours) in Chemistry from Queen’s University in Canada, as well as a MSc degree in Chemistry and a PhD in Biochemistry and Biomolecular Structure at the University of Toronto. She then transitioned to Caltech, where she spent three years as a postdoctoral scholar, and finally joined the faculty in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at CSUN in 2007. She is currently an Associate Professor of Biochemistry. Her research interests involve atomic-level investigation of the role of protein flexibility in the functional processes of signaling proteins and chaperones. She has received funding from the National Science Foundation (Research in Undergraduate Institutions program, and the Major Research Instrumentation competition) as well as the National Institutes of Health (Support of Competitive Research SC2 and SC3 programs).
