ABOUT THE PANELISTS

Lijah Barasz
is a Connecticut native who honed her dramatic writing skills in the writers’ room of ABC Family's flagship drama PRETTY LITTLE LIARS. After starting out as the Writers’ Assistant, Lijah worked her way up to Story Editor and currently has over ten episodes to her name. While earning her stripes writing teen drama, Lijah’s original material eagerly delves into edgier content and focuses on issues of sex, gender, and cultural identity. Lijah’s other interests include cycling, online videos of interspecies friendship, and music. She regularly performs with The Silver Lake Chorus, a renowned indie rock group whose debut album features songs written exclusively for the chorus by Bon Iver, Sia, Ben Gibbard, Tegan and Sara, Aimee Mann, and more.

Our Lady J
is currently a writer on Amazon's Golden Globe and Emmy Award winning series Transparent. As a singer/songwriter, she released her first studio album "Picture Of A Man" to critical acclaim in 2013. As a pianist, she has collaborated with the likes of Sia, Lady Gaga, Scissor Sisters, and Broadway stars including Chita Rivera, Christine Ebersole, and Justin Vivian Bond. Our Lady J holds the honor of being the first out trans woman to perform at Carnegie Hall and has been featured on Out Magazine's "Out 100," and the Huffington Post's list of “transgender icons.”

Julia Grob
was born and raised in New York City. She was drawn to television writing after experiencing the joys of co-creating, producing, and acting in her critically-acclaimed web series East WillyB, which was named the “Latino Show for the New Generation” by The New York Times and nominated for a 2013 Imagen Award. She is also a founding director and teaching artist of the Life Stories Youth Ensemble, an off-Broadway youth theater company. In 2014, she was selected into the Disney ABC Writing Program. She currently writers on ABC's comedy-musical Galavant.

Bo Yeon Kim is an international nomad who grew up in Portugal, Brazil, Vietnam, Korea and Japan before her desire to write guided her to Los Angeles. She completed her MFA in screenwriting at UCLA School of Theater, FIlm and Television. With her writing partner Erika Lippoldt, Bo Yeon participated in two prestigious writing programs -- the CBS Writers Mentoring Program and the CAPE New Writers Fellowship -- where they perfected the arts of multitasking and stress eating. They are currently Staff Writers on Season 3 of The CW's Reign.
