Glory June Grieiff Presents Joy to the World on December Prop Day

Wednesday, December 20, 2017


On Wednesday, December 20, join us for Joy to the World, presented by author, public historian and performer Glory June Greiff. She will share holiday poems, readings and thoughts to set us all in that holiday spirit.

A professional narrator and a performer of song and story, Glory-June Greiff is also a public historian and preservation activist who has written books, numerous essays and articles on public sculpture, WPA park projects and art. She combines art, nature, history, and, of course, wonder. A native of rural Hudson Lake in northern Indiana, Greiff earned a B.S. in Radio-Television/English from Butler University,worked several years on the air in radio, and later earned a master's degree in Public History from Indiana University. She has two published full-length books, Remembrance, Faith, and Fancy: Outdoor Public Sculpture in Indiana and People, Parks, and Perceptions: A History and Appreciation of Indiana State Parks. Some of you may have been fortunate enough to have seen her perform Songs My Mother Sang covering her mother’s military service and WWII tunes.

The luncheon at noon, followed by this special program is $25 for Indianapolis Propylaeum members and $30 for nonmembers. Reservations are required at 317.638.7881, option #3 or e-mail events@thepropylaeum.org by noon, Friday, December 15, 2017.
