Event Details

Every 4 minutes, someone in the U.S. dies from an overdose or alcohol-related cause – the equivalent of a jumbo jet crashing every day with no survivors.

 22 million Americans are suffering

23 million more are in recovery

1 in 3 households are directly impacted

From recovery community organizations to family advocacy groups, prevention and education networks, public health agencies, labor partners, faith leaders and many more: All are needed to work together, to change the conversation & promote real solutions to the addiction crisis.

Facing Addiction Inc. is a national non-profit organization dedicated to unifying the voices of the more than 45 million Americans and their families directly impacted by addiction. Facing Addiction is bringing together the best resources in the field in order to reduce the human and social costs of addiction, every year, until this public health crisis is eliminated.

The organization was launched in 2015, in front of tens of thousands on the National Mall in Washington DC and was co-sponsor of the launch of the U.S. Surgeon General’s seminal report on the addiction crisis in America, in Los Angeles on November 17, 2016.

Earlier this year Facing Addiction chose Fitchburg MA as one of just 15 communities to participate in their Pilot Community Project.
