8:30 - 9:30 Responding to the Impact of Trauma on Attachment and Student Behavior - Kate Swanson, LICSW, Clinical Director of Fernbrook Family Center of Steele County. This workshop will provide an overview of attachment styles, briefly review trauma-informed concepts, and explore how to begin to repair the effects of insecure attachment and complex trauma through positive relationships.

9:45 - 10:45 Hard Conversations - Mary Harders, BS, MHP, Crisis Responder for Crisis Response for Southeast MN. Angela Kroening-Johnson, LSW, Dispositional Advisor for MN Board of Public Defense. Discussion on personal, social, and professional biases and how they create barriers for us to discuss mental health in our communities. Tips and strategies of breaking down those barriers of shame and guilt to create safe environments for open communication will be the goal in this session.

11:00 - 12:00 EMDR, Eye Movement Desensitization Rehabilitation; Elaine Wynne, M.A., L.P., EMDR Certified Therapist

12:45 - 1:15 Tapping into Local Services - Joshua Jenson, Crisis Response and Crisis Text Line Coordinator for Southeast MN. Personal life experience living with mental health challenges, as a suicide survivor. Data will be provided to help us better appreciate and understand the scope of the problem. Tips and strategies to assist in accessing services from a survivor's point of view.

1:15 - 2:15 Effective Crisis Response - Mary Harders, BS, MHP, Crisis Responder for Crisis Respoonse for Southeast Minnesota. Liz Keck, MSW, LICSW, Lead social worker for Allina Hospital in Owatonna, MN. Learn about the collaborative efforts being made to serve individuals experiencing mental health issues in our community.

2:15 - 2:30 BREAK

2:30 - 3:00 One Person's Journey Toward Mental Wellness

3:00 - 3:30 Peer Support Specialists - Unsung Heroes of Support and Recovery - Michael Bolton, Jr., Peer Support Specialist; Melissa Haggenmiller, Peer Support Specialist. Their journey, including the symptoms they have struggled with, their diagnosis, barriers they identified to accessing services and what supports and services they receive to manage their mental health. They will also discuss their role in assisting others to manage their mental health and what they enjoy most about their jobs.

3:30 - 4:15 Your Role in Awareness and Prevention - Yellow Ribbon Organization - Preventing suicide and attempts by making suicide prevention accessible to everyone and removing barriers to help by empowering individuals and communities through leadership, awareness and education; and by colloborating and partnering with support networks to reduce stigma and help save lives.
