The Peace Awareness Campaign is a day of creating awareness on the need to embrace peace, foster unity and harmony as well as to sensitize the City’s residents on the growing menace of terrorism, violence, hate speech, violent communication and extremism in our Society today.
ABOUT THE EVENT
On September 11, 2017, The Counsellor Organization will host #Project11 in collaboration with different other Non-Governmental Organizations, Non-Governmental Foundations, Government agencies and individuals across the country with focus on Unity, Interdependence, Environment, Economic Justice, Health, Children & Youth, Women, Human Rights, Freedom, Disarmament and Peace.
Activities around the Project 11 would be all year long event with a unique focus starting September 11th and concluding on September 21st, the UN International Day of Peace.
Project 11 will focus more at strengthening the ingenuity of unity, equality, oneness above all advancing the culture of peace nationally.

The 1000 Walk for Peace event will involve a peaceful road-walk by volunteers from Ikeja LG bus-stop to Agege market square via Ogba at 9.am.
The following are the aims and objectives of this program:
Network with a wide range of conflict resolution and related professionals from around the country
Discuss creative approaches to the resolution of historical conflicts and in the process be a part of a history making event.
Work to create a Culture of Peace
Call for Sept 21 being a day of nonviolence in all media - a "media ceasefire"
Call for Sept 21 being a day of nonviolence in our communities -a ceasefire for gangs, domestic disputes, etc.
Call for the Establishment of departments and ministries of peace around the country
Prioritize nonviolent forms of communication at all levels - from the personal to the international
Highlight our personal and collective progress towards a Culture of Peace that shall be based on mutual appreciation and respect for other forms of cultures and religion.
