Event description

Description

Project SWIFT – which stands for Superfast Wi-Fi In carriage for Future Travel – aims to deliver high quality and high-speed Wi-Fi broadband to rail carriages.

Not only is this state-of-the-art offering expected to improve the experience for passengers accessing the Internet, it will also open up a range of significant opportunities for operators and retailers too.

Through the use of trackside backhaul nodes in a real-life environment, Project SWIFT will deliver a service comparable to the best Wi-Fi hotspots and completely transform our experience of train journeys.

The Open Innovation Challenge invited five SMEs to explore the potential of Superfast Wi-Fi and open data APIs on a train to enhance onboard passenger experience. Each of the five have been through an 8 week programme to concept, validate and create a solution which will engage passengers, create incremental revenue streams for ScotRail and/or improve customer satisfaction. We are delighted to invite you to join us on Tuesday 3rd October to meet the teams, hear their pitches, and meet them afterwards.

Please arrive prior to lunch being served at 12pm
