Event description

Description

Johnson County Developmental Supports is eager to implement their seventh year of Project SEARCH beginning in August 2020.

Project SEARCH is an education and employment program model for people with IDD 18 years of age or older who are interested in community employment. This event will discuss important program details, and explain how to apply.

Interns will spend their time immersed in a host business site completing three internship rotations designed to teach them marketable, transferable work skills. The goal of the program is employment for each intern defined as a minimum of 16 hours per week in a competitive, integrated setting, earning prevailing wage or higher.

This is the second of two available days for this event. This event will also be held 6-8 p.m. on Jan. 23, 2020 at the Johnson County Administration Building, 111 S. Cherry St. Olathe, KS 66061, Room LL201.

If you can't make it to the February event, you can register for the January event.

*Note: tickets will not be needed to gain access. Please arrive before 6:00 to ensure you can gain entry, as the venue doors lock after this time.
