Description

Project Learning Tree (PLT) is an award-winning international environmental education program that uses trees as a "window to the world." This training will prepare you to lead activities from PLT's PreK-8 Activity Guide. Click Here to learn more about Project Learning Tree in Florida.This training is for anyone interested in learning hands-on approaches to teach youth about trees, forests, and the environment. Teachers, land owners, outreach coordinators, community volunteers, scout and camp leaders, undergraduate and graduate students and educators, anyone working with youth or wanting to are welcome!

  • Earn continuing education credit or in-service points (please check with your professional development office)
  • Build your resume with new abilities and skills
  • Learn how to comfortably teach about environmental issues
  • Become a certified Project Learning Tree Educator
  • Receive a copy of the PLT's PreK-8 Guide containing 96 hands on activities
  • Share ideas and network
  • Have Fun!

Please bring a bag lunch, dress for outdoors and indoors, and bring a reusable water bottle.

It is a 10 minute drive from the entrance of Austin Cary to the Learning Center, where the workshop will be held. Please plan time accordingly!

1. Equip participants with Project Learning Tree’s (PLT) K-8 Environmental Education Activity Guide, & other resources.

2. Give participants the tools they need to bring conservation education to their audiences.

3. Help participants gain confidence when presenting and conducting fun, forest related activities.
