Since 2005, the City of Norfolk Office to End Homelessness (OTEH) has brought together local agencies, community organizations and communities of faith to provide immediate, barrier-free access to community resources. Norfolk Project Homeless Connect will provide our citizens experiencing homelessness access to medical providers, housing agencies, employment agencies, and mainstream benefits specialists. Participants will also receive donated goods as well as services from local barbers and hairstylists and free access to long distance telephone service.
Project Homeless Connect events have captured national attention, having been selected as a “Best Practice” model by the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness. The City of Norfolk is continously developing community initiatives and programs that will better the lives of citizens, strengthen community partnerships and lead to economic self-sufficiency and vitality for all.
