Join Project Flux Dancer, Selby Jenkins, on holiday from her dance studies in Brussels, Belgium. Dive deep and explore as Selby guides you through a series of sensation-based movement and improvisational composition.

*no dance experience necessary*

When: Wednesday, December 18th from 7:00-8:00pm

Where: JUMP Move Studio on the fifth floor, take a right out of the elevators.

Selby Jenkins started dancing at the age of 4 in Boise, Idaho where she was born and raised. She studied at multiple studios in the Boise area, composing her 15 years of training in all genres of dance. Selby began dancing with Boise contemporary dance company Project Flux in 2014 and has since been training under mentor Lydia Sakolsky-Basquill. Through Project Flux, Selby has been granted opportunities to perform at Treefort Music Festival, MING Studios, and in the Boise Dance Co-Op. She joined Idaho Dance Theater for their 2016-2017 season and Fall 2018 season, performing in annual showings as well as traveling through Southeast Idaho to be a part of IDT's Ed-Outreach Program. Selby studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance’s Year-Round Program, prior to its closure, from 2017-2018 under the direction of Summer Lee Rhatigan. During her year in San Francisco, she apprenticed with the Margaret Jenkins Dance Company and performed in the work “Toward 45”. Selby is continuing her dance studies at the Performance Art and Research Training Studios (P.A.R.T.S.) in Brussels, Belgium for 3-years, under the direction of Anne Theresa de Keersmaeker. She has studied privately or collectively with mentors: Christian Burns, Lauren Edson, Libby Farr, Marla Hansen, David Hernandez, Bobbi Jene Smith, Margaret Jenkins, Alex Ketley, Courtney Mazeika, Summer Lee Rhatigan, Lydia Sakolsky-Basquill, Kelvin Vu, and Tom Weinberger.
