Originally from Twin Falls, Idaho, Mady Thornquest grew up training in classical ballet, jazz, and tap before transitioning into an intensive study of ballet under the direction of Cynthia Jones. Mady was introduced to Boise’s blossoming dance community in 2014 when they were invited to join Balance Dance Company, a prominent modern dance company for high-school students. They studied at Balance for two seasons on full scholarship and it was there, under the mentorship of Leah Clark that Mady discovered a love of contemporary movement. With this newfound passion, Mady has had the honor of spending summers studying at the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance and Alonzo King LINES Ballet. Since relocating to the Treasure Valley in January, Mady has had the pleasure of studying under Marla Hansen, Lauren Edson, and Lydia Sakolsky-Basquill, as well as apprenticing with Project Flux and Idaho Dance Theatre for their 2016-2018 seasons. Mady is now furthering their training at CalArts, and looks forward to performing with Project Flux in between studies.
