2 PM to 4 PM
Based on a true story, in the film Blackbird two women in treatment grapple with their different experiences navigating an eating disorder. After the film, there will be a discussion with the two women whom the film is about, discussing their different experiences with an eating disorder and how each of them navigated recovery along with other speakers sharing their stories of hope and resilience. There will also be a Q& A and live exercise to allow the audience to tie together the film’s message.

ABOUT PROJECT BLACKBIRD
Project Blackbird is an awareness program created to shine a light on mental health struggles. It is designed to make small but significant changed with regard to mental health through the screening of the short film Blackbird and discussions with the film’s subjects. The aim is to de-stigmatize discussion around mental health with a specific focus on underserved communities. Project Blackbird hopes to start a conversation within these communities so that individuals do not feel alone and together we #shedshame.
