Event description

Description

This all-day, two-part FREE workshop is funded by the National Science Foundation, through a grant administered by the Rochester Institute of Technology/NTID and the Deaf TEC Center.

Part One 9:00 am to 11:30 am Universal Design for Learning/Project Access

Learn about the Universal Design in Learning theory and how to put it into practice for students. Whether teaching online, face-to-face or hybrid courses, this training will provide resources to make educational materials more accessible and engaging for ALL students, especially those with language or disability challenges.

11:30 am to 12:00 pm Lunch

Part Two 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm Writing in the Disciplines

Students need practice and a variety of experiences to become strong writers. This is especially true for disadvantaged students (Deaf/HH, ESL, senior, adult learners, etc.) who often have limited writing experiences.

Learn strategies for infusing writing in courses across disciplines. While this workshop is geared towards STEM instructors, strategies can be implemented by ALL faculty.

Whether you are an in-house FSCJ faculty member, or work at another institution, this FREE workshop offers valuable information regarding accessibility and the use of technology in the classroom.

**You do not HAVE to attend both parts of this day, but we highly recommend it.**
