About this event
This fall, the 100 Black Men of Madison invite you to stay active and motivated in your health journey with our inaugural walk/run fundraiser, which you can complete safely at your pace. Proceeds raised from this on-going virtual event will go towards Project 3000, an initiative created to help low-income families impacted by COVID-19.
VIRTUAL WALK/RUN KICK-OFF
Guest Speaker: Dr. Tommie Smith, 1968 Olympic Gold Medalist and Human Rights Activist
We invite all registered participants to join our Virtual Walk/Run 2020 Kick-off Celebration at 9 a.m. on Saturday, September 26th, featuring our honorary event chair and guest speaker, Dr. Tommie Smith. Dr. Smith will participate in a Zoom-based question and answer activity with area youth at the conclusion of the event. A link to the online event meeting will be sent to the registered participant emails the day before (Only registered attendees will be allowed to participate).
WALK/RUN AND GEAR
Between September 26 and October 11, walk safely in your neighborhood practicing social distancing. We'd love to see your progress (we may even feature it on our page!). You can take a picture of yourself walking, take a screenshot of the miles ran on your fitness app, feel free to get creative (but please, keep it classy). Share your achievement on social media.
If you register for a contribution package that includes items, we will ship those out to you via standard mail. The shipping address requested in registration will be the only address used for shipping. Please make sure the address info is correct and keep an eye out for your gear once it ships.
Participants who select certain contributions at registration qualify to receive this year's T-Shirt along with additional gear! (See image)
