Event description

Description

Internationally acclaimed writer and philosopher Sir Professor Roger Scruton has published more than forty books in philosophy, aesthetics and politics, as well as novels, and is widely translated. He is a prominent and often controversial voice within British intellectual and cultural life, frequently appearing on radio and television discussions and often speaking against perceived norms. Drawing on his book of the same name, Roger Scruton joins us to speak On Human Nature, presenting an original and radical defence of human uniqueness. Confronting the views of evolutionary psychologists, utilitarian moralists, and philosophical materialists such as Richard Dawkins and Daniel Dennett, he argues that human beings cannot be understood simply as biological objects.
