Description

Paul Gilroy is Professor in American and English Literature at King’s College London. His influence in the fields of cultural studies, black studies and postcolonial studies is immeasurable. The author of numerous seminal texts including The Black Atlantic (1995), Professor Gilroy has lectured and written widely on the black diaspora, cultural politics, racism, national identity, empire and social theory.

Founded in 2016, the Black Arts and Humanities research cluster aims to foster the broad range of research currently being done in the Faculty of Arts around the artistic and intellectual work of people of African descent.
