Productivity Commission inquiry into mental health: Queensland panel
Event Information
About this Event
Join the Queensland Mental Health Commission and a panel of experts as we discuss the findings of Australian Productivity Commission inquiry into mental health. The Productivity Commission report includes five core reform areas: prevention and early intervention; closing critical gaps in healthcare services; investment in services beyond health; getting people into work and helping them stay there; and care navigation, coordination, governance and funding.
Chaired by Queensland Mental Health Commissioner Ivan Frkovic, this free online and in-person event will focus on the findings of the report and its implications for Queenslanders.
The panel will be made up of:
- Productivity Commissioner Stephen King
- Productivity Commissioner Julie Abramson
- National Mental Health Commission CEO Christine Morgan, who is the Prime Minister’s National Suicide Prevention Adviser
- Productivity Commission Associate Commissioner Harvey Whiteford, University of Queensland Professor of Population Mental Health
- The one-hour discussion will be followed by 30 minutes of questions from our online and in-person audience. In-person audience members are invited to join us for light refreshments on the Queensland Terrace after the event.
