A Class On How To Produce Your Own Game Show, Theme Show, & Gimmick Show!

About the Class: Austin Rittle is offering an opportunity to learn the fundementals of producing several different types of shows. These will include: Game Show, Theme Show, and Gimmick Show. During this class, the students will team up to prepare their own show to present at the showcase at the end! This class will have lectures, exercises, reviewing tape, brainstorming, and writers room time. The last few sessions will focus on preparing the student projects for the stage!

Completing LIP's Improv 201 is a requirement for taking this class. If you have not completed LIP 201, but have other Improv education or experience, please contact our Artistic Director for approval to take the class without the 201 prerequisite. This class runs for Eight Weeks on Wednesday nights for the following dates: 1/7, 1/14, 1/21, 1/28, 2/4, 2/11, 2/18, and 2/25 from 7pm-9pm. At the end of the class there will be a showcase of the student projects! This Showcase will be Satuday 2/28 starting at 7pm. Class will be onsale until noon on Monday 1/5!

Note: there will be a few weeks that class may go long, but never past 9:30pm.

Note: there will be work to do outside of class. Some of that work will require you to meet with your co-producers (fellow students), so be prepared to work outside of class!

About the Teacher: this class will be taught by Lancaster Improv Player’s own Artistic Director: Austin Rittle. Over the last 12 years, Austin has performed in more than five hundred improv shows and is a graduate of the Philly Improv Theater’s curriculum. Generally you will find Austin performing at LIP or cooking up a new show idea for the theater. Austin is a founding member of the Lancaster Improv Players and wants to continue to make Lancaster a funnier place through teaching what he loves. He makes the best salsa in Lancaster City.

Scholarships: Some scholarships are available to partially or fully cover the cost of the stated class fee. For additional information, please reach out to finance@lancasterimprovplayers.org with your request at least a week prior to the start date of the class.

Refund policy: We will honor refund requests up until the class starts. Eventbrite fees may not be refundable, check with their refund policy.

Parking: Street parking is available and free after 6pm! The parking garages are open! Steinman Garage, Prince St Garage, and Duke St Garage are recommended in that order!
