Description

Crazy, Zany, Risky Procurement Implementations That Changed the World

"What do you do with the mad you feel?
When you feel so mad you could bite.
When the whole wide world seems oh so wrong,
And nothing you do seems very right."

- Mr. Rogers

In 1969, President Nixon proposed cutting the PBS budget in half. Fred Rogers sat at the Senate hearing, talked about his show and recited the above lyrics. Because of Mr. Rogers, instead of cutting the budget in half, Congress raised PBS’s budget from $9 million to $22 million.

Was Fred Rogers crazy, or did he know exactly what he was doing? Was he taking a dangerous risk, or had he created a well-prepared strategy based on his understanding of self? Was he a fool, or was he a master negotiator who understood the nature of Congress?

Join our panel as we share some of the seemingly crazy, zany, risky implementations made by professionals who have changed the procurement world. Our incredible panel will be moderated by Joanna Martinez, author, entrepreneur, with over 40 years of experience in supply chain train transformation and education. Warning: Your procurement paradigm may be transformed.
