Description

Processing & Editing Digital B&W Images Workshop with Jim Moody

Jim Moody was bitten by the photography bug at a very early age, over 35 years ago now! He was born and bred staring back down the lens of an Olympus Trip 35mm film camera, held by his dad. Growing up he had a succession of 'hand me down' cameras passed on when his dad was upgrading his kit and he taught Jim all he knew about photography. Jim covers a variety of photography genres including Landscapes, Property, Live Music Events & Performing Arts, weddings and portraiture. He runs workshops teaching on a one to one level and small groups, his workshops range from camera basics through to street photography. Jim is known for his black and white images and he has a dedicated workshop covering his editing & processing workflow which is packed with tips and tricks. Having made the switch almost 5 years ago Jim now shoots exclusively with the Fujifilm X Series Mirrorless cameras.

This workshop is designed to help you maximise the imapct of your black and white images by teaching you the techniques Jim uses for producing his powerful, gritty and atmospheric monochrome live music images. The tricks, tips and techniques you will learn can be used for any genre of black and white image processing whether it be dramatic landscape panoramas or intimate portraits. This workshop is ideal for photographers who have a passion for monochrome photography and would like to gain a more indepth understanding of how to edit and process their images to give them that 'WOW' factor! The software packages Jim uses are: Adobe Lightroom CC, Adobe Photoshop CC and NIK Silver Efex Pro 2. The workshop is suitable for all levels of photographer although some degree of knowledge of using the above software is required in order to gain the most benefit from the workshop.

Workshops can be tailored to suit small groups of up to 8 delegates or delivered on a more personal one to one basis. Group workshops for photographic clubs etc. can be carried out at your venue but these costs will vary so please contact us for a more detailed costing. One to one tuition can be delivered at delegates own premises or home. It is recomended that delegates have a laptop or desktop PC loaded with the software above in order to under take the workshop properly as you will follow in real time the processes Jim uses. A notepad and pen to take notes is aslo recomended as well as a selection of images to use for the demonstartion and editing element of the workshop.

Please note: Due to the nature of these workshops, and Jims workload, specific dates can not be included in this booking listing, therefore the valid period is set to 12 months. It is suggested that you make contact before booking to confirm availability if you have a specific date you would like.
