Guiding Behavior with Positive Discipline
A workshop for CCS families, led by Jarrod
All young children sometimes behave in ways that challenge their families. Their behavior can be frustrating ("For heaven's sake, just put on your jacket!"), infuriating ("Getting her into bed takes 60 solid minutes!"), and mystifying ("Why on earth did you put jelly in your hair?!"). As loving caregivers we don't want to punish or threaten or yell or bribe—but sometimes we're just out of strategies.
In this 90-minute workshop for families (parents, grandparents, and other caregivers welcome!), Jarrod will help you explore the principles of positive discipline, a framework for helping you and your child understand each other and communicate better, so that both of you can avoid some aggravation and build your relationship. We'll share experiences, discuss approaches, and explore strategies.
The workshop is free for CCS families, with a $5-10 suggested donation to benefit financial aid. Childcare $12 for ages 18 months through 8 years, limited availability.
