Private Guided Exploration of Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge & Bird Sanctuary
Sun, August 13, 2017, 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM EDT
Join New York Adventure Club for a private exploration of Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge, one of the most significant bird sanctuaries in the Northeastern United States and one of the best places in New York City to observe migrating species.
As the only wildlife refuge in the National Park System, the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge located in the neighborhood of Broad Channel is also home to an impressive array of native reptiles, amphibians, small mammals, over 60 species of butterflies, and one of the largest populations of horseshoe crabs in the Northeast.
Led by a National Park Service Ranger, our experience will take us through the trails of Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge to spot egrets, ibis, herons, other shorebirds, and catch the shorebird migration.
