Printmaking with Recycled Materials with Nina Muys - 2 Sessions

By Washington Printmakers Gallery

Overview

Get ready to unleash your creativity and eco-friendly spirit with Nina Muys in these hands-on printmaking sessions using recycled materials!

Friday, and Saturday January 9 and 10, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The first day we will explore a wonderful material - tetrapack that is the inside of a soup or orange juice carton! The carton, flattened out,  can be easily etched with a sharp object , inked, and printed with non-toxic inks on our small etching press. Shaping the plate and making it into a larger collage print are options to be explored.

The second day, students will use discarded styrofoam containers, cut them into plates, incise the plate with a sharp object and then roll ink over the surface. No press is required for this. Other found objects such as old CDs, plastic forks and empty cup can result in exciting prints.

Ages 13 and up, drawing skills are encouraged but not necessary.

Price for both sessions is $180. Supplies are included in the price.

If you wish to take only one: $100
