The poster or broadside was once an important method of mass communication. In the 19th century the development of wood type made it possible to economically print quantities of large posters. Using the collection of wood type in the Book Arts Workshop you will have an opportunity to learn how to correctly assemble wood type and print your own poster expressing an idea or personal saying.
No previous experience is necessary, but taking the one session Introduction to Letterpress would be helpful. All materials are provided. Please bring a short saying or epigram.
