Print Fest: Panorama Book

About this Event
Participants will learn the structure of the Panorama Book which utlizies cleverly placed folds and cuts to create pop up segments to highlight specific areas of the paper or to display small artworks. Topics covered will be the importance of proper and intentional creasing, the importance of grain direction, using book structure as an integral aspect of an art piece, and the fluid definition of what a "book" is.
Participants will leave the class with a finished 8"x4" album.
COVID PROTOCOLS
No more than 4 students in the press room.
Masks will be worn by all visitors to the shop.

Physical distancing of 6 feet at all times.
All surfaces cleaned after use.

The class is taught by Mel Hewitt.
Mel Hewitt is a book artist working her way towards becoming proficient in all aspects of the book arts. Her skills currently lie in traditional and contemporary binding structures and finishing techniques, paper marbling, paste papers, and incorporating letter press, screen printing, and relief printing into her pieces.
