Princesses Can Be WHAT? Book Launch

Perfect for children who dream about the day they become a princess (or Darth Vader)… and can be inspired to use those ideas in positive and meaningful ways!

Brand new book ‘Princesses Can Be WHAT?', by Calgary mom and author Cat White, seeks to support the magic and excitement of imaginary play, while also encouraging readers to broaden their ideas about what is possible in their future and what they are capable of achieving.

This book encourages kids to find balance in the here and the now, and to embrace glitter and grit in equal measure!

WHAT TO EXPECT:

This child-centered event will kick off with a warm welcome from the author Cat White, followed by an exciting book reading. Participants will then meet real and inspiring women who are very excited to show off what they do. A snack time performance will be sure to delight all attendees.

With the support of moms and dads, participants will then take their inspiration and sense of empowerment into a series of crafts and activities. The event will wrap up with prizes and time for children to participate in the most important job of a child- PLAY!

YYC Princess will get kids on their feet to help celebrate these present and special moments of childhood. Your child will leave with a loot bag full of treasures!

A dress-up photobooth will be open throughout the event.

Children MUST be accompanied by an adult.

Books are not included in the event ticket.

A CAUTIONARY TALE:

Book printer's timelines are as predictable as Calgary's weather, and they refuse to take responsibility- just like a 3-year-old caught in the act.

Paperback and hardcover books, t-shirts and stocking stuffers are available for pre-order on www.catwhite.ca and will also be available for purchase at the event.

Paperback copies will definitely be available at the event, but hardcovers might arrive the following week. If you order a hardcopy and they have not arrived in time for the event, your signed and dedicated book will be mailed or hand-delivered to you shortly after the event.

WHAT TO WEAR:

There’s a perfect time and place for your favourite princess attire or to dress up like the job you want to have in the future, and THIS IS IT! Kids should come dressed in their best princess, prince, or future CEO finest. All Darth Vadar/ Princess hybrids are also welcome!

WHAT TO BRING:

Just your smiling selves!

COVID CONSIDERATIONS:

There are currently no Provincial guidelines that apply to this event. As an extra precaution, the following measures will be taken:

• Hand sanitizer will be available
• All snacks will be individually wrapped and drinks pre-poured to limit cross contamination
